"Yabusame", Japanese horseback archery in Kamakura 流鏑馬 in 鎌倉

"Yabusame", Japanese horseback archery, will be held at The Yabusame Kamakura, the largest permanent facility in Japan designed for yabusame, as the Shinto ritual to pray for peace, a rich harvest, and people's health, as well as to wish for the promotion and development of various cultural traditions such as Noh, Kamakura-bori (Kamakura style wood curving) lacquerware, and the food culture of the Kamakura period that lives on in the city of Kamakura by The Japan Equestrian Archery Association.


Live commentary and reference materials in English will be provided, and this time, an armorer from Fukushima prefecture will be at the cultural exhibit booth, another form of Japanese equestrian tradition called "kasa-gake" will be demonstrated, and you could enjoy meet-and-greet with archers and hand-led horse ride for children followed by "yabusame" ritual.
