【Recommended Bon Dance Festival by Imagine Bon Dance Unit on Enoshima Island】 @hakko_bonsai

During the summer, festivals are held throughout Japan, and many of them feature traditional dance called "Bon Odori".
Some of these events are strong community gatherings for local residents or have religious meanings related to ancestor worship or Buddhism, which can make them less accessible to outsiders. Additionally, the traditional music and rhythms might be unfamiliar and challenging to dance to.
However, 'Imagine Bon Odori Unit' which is consist of the residents of Kamakura, Zushi, Hayama, and Yokosuka area was started with the aim of bringing people together peacefully, so it is casual and open to everyone including tourists and foreigners to join and enjoy.
Traditional Bon Odori often involves dancing to music played from CDs through speakers, however, Imagine Bon Odori Unit features live performances by a band composed of Western instruments like electric guitars and saxophones, along with traditional Japanese instruments like drums, and a vocalist.
This creates a live concert-like atmosphere and a sense of unity.
Moreover, there will be food stalls from unique local eateries including ones featured on our guidebook Local Focus and an organic farmers market on site, making the event even more enjoyable.
Enjoy a summer night with a casual and enjoyable Bon Odori festival while feeling the Enoshima night breeze.
