Sakura season here is in the final stage now.
Blossoms on the branches, petals fluttering in the air or ones on the ground, either in the town, at the temples and shrines, or in the mountains, they are all still beautiful and magical.

If you will try to get to view the final stage of the sakura in Kamakura, we recommend you to stay overnight in town, wake up early, enjoy breakfast in town, then walk through Dan-kazura path before the crowds arrive and get at the Peony Garden in Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine at 9am when they opens the gate so that you can enjoy viewing sakura, peony, camellia flowers etc by the pond in a tranquil atmosphere (at least on weekdays).

Another way to beat the crowds to view the final stage of sakura, visit Zen temples in Kita-Kamakura.Although there is no big sakura viewing spot such as Dan-kazura path, but pink sakura blossoms of the big old trees contrast beautifully with the fresh maple leaves and bamboos in the dignified atmosphere.
