We have created a new page on our website introducing the nature experience program to swim with wild dolphins in the ocean that Mariko Miki, our president, organized from 1993 - 2015 as part of her profile. This experience serves as the foundation for her work and volunteer activity she is doing now, and you might know why the name of our company is 'The Blue'.

The pattern of ya-bane, or "feathered arrow," carved into the cutlery is a symbol of the courage to face new challenges, protection against evil, and the samurai spirit of Kamakura.
Samurai warriors who achieved the revolution to establish the new era from the world of aristocracy in Kyoto to the samurai warriors of Kamakura used the bow and arrow not only as weapons but also as sacred objects to deliver prayers to the gods as we still see in yabusame, Japanese equestrian archery today.

Items were created by local craftsmen and artists to reduce single-use waste for the ones who care about our beautiful planet Earth and local communities.

Mariko was born in Tokyo, Japan and grew up in Chiba Prefecture.
After she studied English and American literature at a collage in Tokyo, she studied oceanography and about dolphins in Florida for one year. After returning to Japan, she started a nature program to swim with wild dolphins while working in public relations. Later, following marriage, she lived in Pennsylvania for seven years before coming back to Japan in 2006. Now she lives in a small village overlooking Sagami Bay and Mt. Fuji in Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Even while moving back and forth between Japan and America, she continued running the nature program for over a span of twenty years under the organization name 'Delphines'.
She established The Blue Inc. in 2015 to help spread awareness of lifestyles that are harmonic with nature.
She is certified as a Permaculture Designer and has been involved in various local activities to regenerate damaged natural environment.
She has been organizing a volunteer activity to regenerate the natural water cycle of land, rivers, and the sea at a local creek and reservoir since 2023.
